I eat at Arby’s a few times a week, if not every single day. I just love the fact that it offers fast food that is still relatively healthy for you in the long run. If you have not been to Arby’s recently, you may have missed out on the Turkey Asiago Market Fresh Sandwich. This is now one of my favorite items on the menu, and I really hope it sticks around for more than a month. To get you in the mood to at least test this sandwich for yourself, check out my review below. It will open your mind to the wondrous world before you.The Ingredients
The Turkey Asiago Sandwich obviously contains turkey and asiago cheese. It also has lettuce, tomato, and onion on it, all on the same market bread that they use for the other sandwiches of this kind. The sauce on the sandwich is a mix of mayonnaise and au jus, which tastes surprisingly good. I actually think the sandwich would be better with a sun dried tomato sauce, but that’s just me. You would have to give the sandwich a try to determine if you like it or not.
The Flavors
As a whole, I think the flavors on the sandwich work really well together. The asiago cheese tastes fresh and lively, and it pairs well with all of the other toppings on the turkey. Some people may think that the asiago cheese is a little too rich and hearty, so that is something to keep in mind. This just may not be the right cheese for you. I like it because it tastes like it came from a professional deli, not just any old fast food joint. I think that is a smart move on Arby’s part.
The Sides
I like to eat everything I get at Arby’s with curly fries and a sweet tea. However, I think that waffle fries would also taste good with this sandwich, if they sell them at your location. They don’t around here, just because the demand for them is down. I had trouble finding a sauce to dip my fries in because nothing really paired well with the sandwich. I usually eat honey mustard with my Market Fresh sandwiches and then Arby’s sauce for my roast beef sandwiches. Neither of those options tasted right with this one. Then I actually mixed the two of them together, and I ended up with the perfect dipping sauce. Give it a try, and you’ll see what I mean.
Would I recommend the new Turkey Asiago Sandwich? Yep, without question. I really do like the sandwich and all of the toppings that come with it. I have probably had it four or five times since it came out a few weeks ago, and I’ll have it a few more times until they take it off the menu. Then I’ll just have to hope that it sticks around on a more permanent basis. Come on chefs! Keep it on the menu!
